duiduidui! for Teachers

The companion app for your Chinese lessons. Your students study between sessions, you see exactly what they've learned, and every lesson starts from where they actually are.

A teacher's view of a student in duiduidui!: recent study sessions with card counts, durations, and grades, plus before-and-after skill level for one session

See What Your Students Actually Know

When a student connects with you in duiduidui!, you see the same measurements the app uses internally: their overall skill level, exactly which characters and words they've mastered, where they keep stumbling, how often they study, and how their proficiency has changed over time.

These aren't engagement points or completion badges. Every number is a genuine statistical estimate of language ability, built from the student's real review history. If a student's skill level went up this week, they got better at Chinese this week.

Walk Into Every Lesson Prepared

No more spending the first ten minutes of a lesson asking "so, what did you work on this week?" Open the app before class and review each student's sessions: what they studied, what stuck, and what didn't. Class time goes straight to the things only a human teacher can do, aimed precisely at the gaps the data reveals.

  • Session history: when they studied, for how long, and what they reviewed
  • Mastery detail: the specific characters, words, and phrases they know, and how well
  • Trouble spots: the items that keep coming back, so you can address the root cause in person
  • Trajectory: proficiency over time, so you can see momentum build or catch a stall early
A teacher's view of one study session: skill level and cognitive load before and after, grade changes, and each reviewed item with its outcome (EASY, GOOD, HARD, or FAIL)

Ask 老虎 (lǎohǔ, "tiger") About Your Students

You don't have to dig through dashboards. 老虎, the AI tutor built into every copy of duiduidui!, can answer questions about your students in plain language: "Which of my students fell behind this week?", "What should I drill with this learner next?", "Is she ready for HSK 3?" The agent reads their shared study history and gives you an answer grounded in the data.

Prefer to work with your own AI assistant? Our public MCP server gives Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini the same tools: analyze a student's progress, draft a lesson plan around their actual weak spots, or build a custom review set.

Accountability Between Lessons

The hardest part of tutoring isn't the lesson. It's the six days between lessons. Students with a teacher who can see their studying simply study more, and duiduidui!'s adaptive engine makes that studying count: it models each student's knowledge, keeps them at the right level of challenge, and never lets a review pile bury them.

Better prepared students make better lessons, better lesson outcomes, and students who stay with you longer.

Consent and Privacy, Built In

Sharing always starts with the student. They choose to add you, they choose exactly how much you can see (Detailed Progress, summary stats, or nothing), and they can change their mind at any time. Sharing is set per direction, so you can keep your own progress private while seeing theirs; the relationship doesn't have to be symmetrical. Student data is never shared with anyone the student hasn't explicitly approved. See the details in our Teachers & Students overview and our Privacy Policy.

Getting Started

  • 1. Get the app. duiduidui! is available on the App Store.
  • 2. Have your student add you as a friend. Students add you from inside the app and set their sharing level to Detailed Progress. There's no separate teacher edition; it's all one app.
  • 3. Teach with the data. Review progress before each lesson, or just ask 老虎.
