Tags & Taxonomy

Every record in the dictionary is tagged into a concept taxonomy — and you can add your own tags for whatever purpose you want.

Concept Categories

The dictionary is organized by topic and concept, not just by difficulty. Looking for food vocabulary? Filter by the food tag. Preparing for a trip? Browse travel-related terms. Studying for HSK? Filter by level. The taxonomy covers dozens of domains — family, work, nature, technology, culture, emotions, and many more — so you can always find vocabulary relevant to your interests.

Your Own Tags

Beyond the built-in taxonomy, you can create your own tags and apply them to any record in the dictionary. Maybe you want to tag words you keep getting wrong, or vocabulary from a specific conversation, or terms related to your job. Custom tags are fully integrated with the app's search and filtering, so once you tag something, you can instantly find it again.

Tags Meet Search

Tags aren't just labels — they're a powerful way to slice through 160,000+ entries and find exactly what you need. Combine tags with difficulty filters, mastery levels, or text search to create highly targeted study sets. Want all food vocabulary you haven't mastered yet at difficulty 50 or below? That's one search.
